Ball of Wax Audio Quarterly is a seattle, underground, music periodical curated by Levi Fuller.  In it's 10th year, this local music institution has been sharing some of the best music Seattle has to offer in interesting collections 4 times a year for a decade.  

To Mark the 40th installation, Levi gathered 40 musicians and placed them in 10 bands at random and charged them to write and record a song based on 1 year between 2005 and 2015, all within 24 hours.

This was a challenging and super fun experience and the music that resulted came out unique, surprising and fantastic.  

The CD Release party is at Conor Byrne this Saturday and Screens is playing a set of music and then later on performing some songs off of the Ball of Wax 40 with the "bands" Lords of Eternity and Masonic Mouth Sounds, and then Screens will be backing Sam Russell's set of music.  This is a really special opportunity to see the Seattle music community in a way that rarely happens. Hollow Earth Radio is a seattle based, diy, online radio station featuring music and programming from around the northwest.  If you tune in tonight from 8-10pm you can hear some amazing northwest music, including a trck from our upcoming release.

Wow we are still basking in the glow of Seattle love!  What a way to start the year.  The new Screens recordings are humming along and we grow closer to comletion each day.

We return to Portland on Friday December 6th to play at a really cool venue called Secret Society.  It's a historic mansion converted into a nightclub and recording studio.  We are opening for 2 bands we are excited to see. Back in high school a bunch of us used to gather on Sunday nights in our friend Britt's van and drive to some secluded spot and kill the lights to listen to "Dead Hour" on the radio in the dark. It was a cool ritual. 

In honor of this tradition and the tradition of long format, late night listening experiences, we've decided to post this set of music.

This was recorded at our home studio on 9/27/13... It was a rehearsal set in preparation for the show we played later that night at Darrell's. 

Listen at your leisure and If you dig it please feel free to pass it on to anyone you think would appreciate it. We certainly appreciate all of you!

We have put our music into a very precise, scientifically accurate, chronologically abbreviated, nomenclature for easy digestion and smooth conversing with your friends and congressional representatives.  We play CRYSTAL SKULLY music.

We wanted to thank everyone for their support thoughout our summer adventures so far. It's been very inspiring to play music for new and old friends, with great bands and in cool venues!

And speaking of friends and great bands, next up we are playing with Luxe Canyon at The High Dive.  Luxe is one of our favorite local bands and we are excited to checkout The Apostrophes who are having their CD release at the same show.

The following week we are playing a show at The Mix with local legend OCnotes and a band we are excited to see called Midnight Factories.

-Our next show is our first trip down to Portland! We are so excited to go down there and play music with all of our amazing friends, including Andrew Field who will be wielding his guitar with Screens on August 1st at The White Eagle Saloon.
