Ball of Wax Audio Quarterly is a seattle, underground, music periodical curated by Levi Fuller. In it's 10th year, this local music institution has been sharing some of the best music Seattle has to offer in interesting collections 4 times a year for a decade.
To Mark the 40th installation, Levi gathered 40 musicians and placed them in 10 bands at random and charged them to write and record a song based on 1 year between 2005 and 2015, all within 24 hours.
This was a challenging and super fun experience and the music that resulted came out unique, surprising and fantastic.
The CD Release party is at Conor Byrne this Saturday and Screens is playing a set of music and then later on performing some songs off of the Ball of Wax 40 with the "bands" Lords of Eternity and Masonic Mouth Sounds, and then Screens will be backing Sam Russell's set of music. This is a really special opportunity to see the Seattle music community in a way that rarely happens. For more on Ball of Wax visit their site.
